From Southeast Asia itself, only Indonesia and Vietnam will compete in the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup. Since the Garuda Nusantara team has been confirmed to appear at the 2023 U-20 World Cup, Vietnam has the opportunity to qualify for the 2023 U-20 World Cup.
In order to qualify for the 2023 U-20 World Cup, Vietnam must at least be able to penetrate the semifinals of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup. But even if they don’t reach the semifinals, Vietnam’s young national team can still qualify for the 2023 U-20 World Cup by ‘cunning’.

Because, Indonesia has been confirmed to qualify for the 2023 U-20 World Cup. So if the Garuda Nusantara squad can penetrate the semifinals of the U-20 Asian Cup later, then the ticket will automatically go to Vietnam.
With that calculation, Vietnam should at least be able to reach the quarter-finals of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup in order to get the remaining tickets to the U-20 World Cup.
For information, Vietnam has a good track record in the U-20 Asian Cup, having been a semifinalist in the 2016 edition.
Of course, Vietnam really hopes to repeat this achievement by reaching at least the quarter-finals of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup.
