KIEV – A year has passed, Ukraine is still at war with Russia. Many other countries are sending military aid to Kiev.
Apart from the United States (US), Croatia also reached out and supported Ukraine.
Launching Aerotime Hub, Croatia plans to send 14 Mi-8 helicopters to Ukraine. As many as 12 units of which are Mi-8MTV-1 types that have been modernized. Meanwhile, the other 2 units are Mi-8T types.
The dozens of helicopters are now in the aviation technical center in the Velika Gorica region, and have been separated from the Croatian armed forces. It is estimated that the helicopters will begin delivery in early to mid-March 2023.

According to information on the Jutarnji website, 7 helicopters will be dismantled and shipped overland via Poland. Only after that, the helicopters will be sent to Ukraine.
Confirmation regarding the delivery of this helicopter has actually been made by the Croatian government since November 2021. However, this plan has only been realized now.
The Mi-8 helicopter is one of Croatia’s advanced helicopters. This helicopter is produced by the MIL Moscow factory. Capable of carrying a crew of 3, the Mi-8 has 2 turboshaft engines with a speed of 259 km per hour.

Mi-8 can fly up to a radius of 5 thousand km. Meanwhile, the empty weight of this helicopter is 6,800 kg and the maximum weight is 12 thousand kg. The Mi-8 also has anti-tank missiles and rockets.
