ROME, FEBRUARY 23 – Talks for a solution to the war in Ukraine are being held in Geneva “with the utmost discretion”, but at the moment not at the highest levels. This was stated by Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis in an interview with the media of the Ch Media group, taken up by Ats. “One day this war will end through negotiation. Building peace is a complicated business that needs a lot of diplomacy,” he added. Switzerland is doing “everything possible” to the UN, he assures. “But since Russia has veto power, it is almost impossible to do anything about it.” For this, he concludes an imminent solution is very difficult “short of a miracle”.
