Nintendo is usually the queen of games 2D platforms with multiplayer: almost all of its Mario, Kirby or Donkey Kong installments have a local multiplayer mode to enjoy in the same room as jumping and puzzles. But there is another series that has been offering the same thing for more than ten years, and on all platforms: Trine.
The Trine series of video games has been offering 2D action, puzzles and platforming with beautiful 3D graphics and a fantasy world for more than ten years. The first game came out in 2009 and the fourth, Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, in 2019.
But soon we will have a new installment: the insider car car-only has leaked on Twitter the title of the next game in the saga, Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy.

Billbil-kun (who is the one who usually filters the free PS Plus games every month) does not offer more details about this release, and does not get wet on its release date: “I cannot confirm it, because delays are very common these days” , he says when asked if it will come out this year.
Since 2009, each new Trine game has always been released three to four years after the previous one. Trine 2 came out in 2011 (it was later one of the first Wii U games upon its release in 2012, which is why the series gained particular fame on consoles).
In 2015 Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power came out, the worst received installment to date, for being a 3D platformer. they fixed it in Trine 4 in 2019which was once again a 2D platformer with a more refined and deep gameplay, and always with the focus on the cooperative between three players.
To the saga Trine has been created by the Finnish studio Frozenbyte, which alternates it with other experiments, such as Starbasea cube ship building and space exploration MMORPG, which has been in early access since 2021, but has not been officially released yet.
