Why is Johnny Depp returning to Pirates of the Caribbean 6? There are many reasons, but the reason for this desire is more bizarre than logical.
There is a strange reason why they want Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean 6. The franchise’s producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, has passionately expressed his desire to see the iconic actor return for more films in the saga. The last one was released in 2017 and carried the subtitle of Dead Men Tell No Tales (Salazar’s Revenge). A sequel has since been announced, which will be the sixth installment. Unlike his five predecessors, however, the actor was not going to return as Captain Jack Sparrow.
However, if it were up to Jerry Bruckheimer, Johnny Depp would return to the franchise in Pirates of the Caribbean 6. Speaking to Deadline, Bruckheimer praised the actor, speaking highly of both his talent and his character. “He is very good at what he does and actors recover from things like this,” said the executive. “He is a good person and he cares about others. He is someone you can trust and he is terrific. I think Johnny is a great friend and an amazing artist and again, you go through things in life that you wish you hadn’t, but he’s still a talented artist.”
What can we expect from the sixth film in the saga?
It is not the first time that Jerry Bruckheimer has expressed interest in working with Johnny Depp again for Pirates of the Caribbean 6. This time, Bruckheimer redoubles his affection for the actor, subtly defending the actor from his bizarre image before public opinion. Both Depp’s drama with his ex-partner Amber Heard and his already-announced departure as Jack Sparrow make his return to the saga seem unlikely, despite Bruckheimer’s support for the Hollywood star.
You’re Johnny Depp, Pirates of the Caribbean 6 will be very different from the first five films. Captain Jack Sparrow has been the iconic protagonist of the saga since The Curse of the Black Pearl, in 2003. So it will be difficult for the series to continue without him. The franchise might also lack other recurring actors like Orlando Bloom, who played former blacksmith-turned-pirate Will Turner. Unlike Depp, Bloom has hinted that he is willing to return for the sixth installment.
