During a recent interview, he spoke about the reception of the game and took the opportunity to defend Frey, as he believes she is a unique protagonist in video games. Reason why she understands part of the rejection that the character received.

Speaking to The Verge, the actress stated that the players are very passionate and that she loves this about the community. On the other hand, she assured that Frey did not convince everyone as the protagonist because she believes that she is out of the conventional mold of characters.
“I love the gaming community for how committed they are to really digging into every game they play. This is such an extraordinary game that has come out with this incredible leading lady who is so bold, so unapologetic, so reluctant in the best possible way. I think the public might not be so used to seeing that,” Balinska said.
He also explained that he has read the comments about the game and the character, but that he has preferred to stay out of it as they are not entirely relevant to him. Likewise, he confessed that he loves the idea of being in a game like Forspoken.
“I think that people always have a positive or negative response to something that they are not used to seeing, and that is completely fine because that is the way we encourage change,” the actress concluded.
