Do you know all the secrets of Dragon Ball? Some, like this one from Bardock Super Saiyan 4, are great mysteries from the Toriyama saga.
There is an untold story of Dragon Ball with Bardock Super Saiyan 4. Fans of the animated saga and the manga know that Goku was the first Saiyan to achieve Super Saiyan 4. But if we rely on the parameters to achieve that transformation, Goku’s own father could have become the first Super Saiyan 4 from the series. That is if he had not been brutally murdered, of course.
Goku’s father was the first Super Saiyan 4!
In Dragon Ball Z: Goku’s Father, Bardock and his team of Saiyans have just conquered a planet. They have done this by transforming into great apes and literally crushing the indigenous life of this world. When they all died, the Saiyans reverted to their humanoid forms and began to discuss the invasion. During this discussion, one of them mentions how they never really remember what they do as great apes.. And most Saiyans agree with that statement. However, Bardock cannot agree, as he is able to remember what he does as a Great Ape in the Dragon Ball saga. That means his mind controls this primal form, something that is clearly rare among Saiyans.
For his part, in Dragon Ball GT, when Goku unlocks Super Saiyan 4, he must first become a version of Bardock’s Great Ape known as the Great Golden Ape. The only difference between a Great Ape and a Great Golden Ape is that the latter is achieved after a Saiyan has unlocked the Super Saiyan transformation. So, after becoming the Great Golden Ape, Goku has to take control of his mind while he is in his wild form. Once this is done, Goku is capable of becoming Super Saiyan 4. From what fans saw during Goku’s first transformation attempt, The hardest part of going Super Saiyan 4 is controlling your mind in the form of the Great Golden Ape, but Bardock could already do that in the Dragon Ball saga..
This is the untold story of Bardock as Super Saiyan 4 in Dragon Ball. Basically, he could have been the first character to dominate and transform into this version… But, at the moment, it is not confirmed.
