A few days ago, the news broke that Millennium Media had a new Hellboy movie in the works. The situation seemed strange, considering that we had a reboot of the comic book adaptation of Mike Mignola in 2019 it was a dismal failure.
However, the news has been confirmed, as well as that Brian Taylordirector of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, will be in charge of directing the new film.
Although details such as who will be the actor in charge of giving life to the half-demon who becomes a supernatural investigator are not yet known, some details have been released by Brian Taylor himself.
The director has been chatting with Collider about the new Hellboy movie, which will feature a script co-written by Christopher Golden and his own Mike Mignola
The new Hellboy movie will be faithful to the comics as much as possible
During his interview, Taylor highlighted his intention for Hellboy: The Crooked Man to stay as faithful as possible to Mike Mignola’s comics set in the 1950s.
“We started with a rough draft by Mike and Chris. Interestingly, a lot of what I’m doing is trying to get it even closer to the original comic than what they did. A comic will never translate directly to the screen, but I’ll tell you my intention in The movie is really honoring and bringing the original comics to life.”
The clear intention is that the new Hellboy movie has R-ratedsomething necessary for a movie based on the character of Mike Mignola, but which needs a lot more to work, as demonstrated by the movie of 2019.
While we wait to find out who will be the actor to take over from David Harbour in that of filing the horns, we will be attentive to the news related to Hellboy: The Crooked Man.
