The Mexican Stock Market (BMV) posted a profit of 0.62% in its main indicator until reaching the 53 thousand 013.62 unitsending his losing streak of four sessions.
“In Mexico, the Price and Quotation Index (IPC) of the BMW posted a profit of 0.62%putting an end to a trend of four consecutive sessions of losses, with an accumulated fall of 2.27%”, commented the director of Economic and Financial Analysis of Banco Base, Gabriela Siller.
Of the top 36 companies listed on the index, the analyst explained, 21 posted profits.
“With the publication of the inflation data and the PCE deflator in the United States last week, speculation increased that inflation will decrease at a slower rate than expected and that, given this, the Federal Reserve will choose to maintain its monetary stance restrictive for longer. However, in today’s session those concerns appear to have moderated,” Siller added.
With today’s advance, the index registers an advance of 9.4% year-to-date since December 30, when the index closed 2022 at the 48 thousand 463.86 units.
Also, position a 6.4% far from its all-time high of 56 thousand 536.68 pointsreached on April 1st.
In the session, the peso appreciated a 0.07% against the dollar, when trading at 18.39 units by greenback, after quoting 18.4 in the previous day, according to data from the Bank of Mexico.
The IPC closed the session in 53 thousand 013.62 unitswith a profit of 327.38 points and a positive variation of 0.62% compared to the previous day.
The volume traded in the market reached 165.1 million of titles for an amount of 13 mil 293.6 millions of pesos.
Of the 476 companies who quoted on the day, 247 they ended up with their prices rising, 209 they had losses and 20 closed without changes.
The shares with the greatest upward variation were from the industrial conglomerate Grupo Kuo (KUO B), with 3.92%; the wood and paper products company Proteak Uno (TEAK CPO), with 3.9%and the insurance company Quálitas (Q), with 3.22%.
In contrast, the largest downward variations were from the telecommunications company Axtel (AXTEL CPO), with -6.06%; the drug distributor Genomma Lab (LAB B); with -5.45%; and the real estate firm Urbi Desarrollos Urbanos (URBI), with -4.29%.
During the day, all sectors won, starting with frequent consumption (0.62%)followed by materials (0.55%)the industry (0.46%) and the financial (0.31%).
