After several fan complaints about the $10 price increase for the Standard Edition of The Legend of Zelda Tears of The Kingdom Nintendo responded to the criticisms after the Game Informer guys asked for clarifications on what happened. We also remind you how yesterday morning the price appeared by mistake on the Nintendo eShop and showed, in fact, the $70 confirmed yesterday evening at the Direct.
On why the sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild has increased in price to $70, the company simply replied: “We determine the suggested retail price for any Nintendo product on a case-by-case basis.” The guys from GI also asked if this will be a trend for the new first-party titles of the Japanese house but the Big N replied: “No. We determine the suggested retail price for any Nintendo product on a case-by-case basis.” None of the titles released so far by Nintendo has ever cost this much and the news has taken many fans by surprise criticizing the high cost of the new title. In any case, the company has said that it will not become a practice to the detriment of what other publishers have said such as 2K Games e Playstation when, at the beginning of the new generation, they raised the price of their flagship titles. Same thing happened last year with Xbox e Ubisoft announcing that their triple-A titles will cost $70 from now on.
We remind you that the Collector’s Edition was also unveiled last night at Nintendo Direct, which you can see in all its beauty in the video below, with content inside:
