All the stories you need to read to better understand the next Ant-Man and the Wasp movie: Quantumania
He February 17th comes to movie theaters Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumaniathe latest release from Marvel Studios and the third film starring the avenger who, against all expectations, found the key to defeating Thanos… and who will now make sure that no one forgets such a feat.
It also helps that Paul Ruddwith all his charisma (which is not little), be the one who gives life to Scott Langand that Peyton Reed is back at the reins, after directing the previous two solo installments of the character.
Together with them they return Evangeline Lilly como Hope van Dynealso known as La Avispa, as well as Michael Douglas y Michelle Pfeiffer como Hank Pym y Janet Van Dyne –parents of this and original versions of the duo of little superheroes–, and Kathryn Newton joins the cast in the role of a grown Cassie Lang, daughter of the titular hero, and Jonathan Majors playing the new big villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Kang the Conquerora force of nature that transcends space and, above all, time.
If the previous installment, Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), had a full impact on the narrative that moved the first phases of this massive film project and that culminated in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019)… Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania now enters the new phase of Marvel Studios’ plan.
CONSTANT AS A LITTLE ANT
More than one hero has answered to the name Ant-Man in Marvel comics, the original being Hank Pym, entomologist and genius in the fields of biochemistry and robotics engineering (his genius would eventually earn him the title of Scientist Supreme of the Land). It was he who discovered the Pym Particles, which allowed him to increase or decrease the size and mass of any object or living thing, including himself.
Once he built himself a suit to put his subatomic particles to use, he became Ant-Man, and with him, Janet Van Dyne in The Wasp. Both would be husband and wife, and founding members of The Avengers who had a lot to do with some of their most famous adventures, such as the creation of their robotic archenemy Ultron.
Ant-Man taken to the movies is, however, Scott Lang, an expert electronic engineer who, unable to support his family with his job, and desperate to cure his daughter (little Cassie), chose to apply his knowledge to entering Dr. Pym’s house and stealing his suit… without knowing he was watching. After his time in jail, Scott Lang turned his back on crime and got his life back on track, and as a superhero he has not only been among the ranks of The Avengers, but has also been a part of The Fantastic Four and The Future Foundation.
There has been yet another Ant-Man, when Eric O’Grady wore the helmet…but we’ve yet to see a trace of him on the big (or small) screen.
DIFFERENT HEROES, ALWAYS AVENGERS

Ant-Man: The Man in the Anthill!)Hank Pym first reinvented himself as Ant-Man in Tales to Astonish #35 USA and in Tales to Astonish #49 USAas Giant Man… but there are many identities that he has assumed as a member of The Avengers: he adopted the name of Goliath in The Avengers #28 USA (1966. Marvel Gold: The Avengers #2) to save Janet Van Dyne.
He also called himself Yellow Jacket from The Avengers #59 USA (1968. Marvel Gold. The Avengers: United in Combat!), and this is an identity tied to the memory of his marriage to Jan… for better and for worse. Falling from grace and on his way to redemption, our hero chose to be just Doctor Pym, Scientist Adventurer, in The West Coast Avengers, most recently leading the Avengers under the name Wasp after his wife. .
In the case of Scott Lang, his career is also linked to the group in whose pages he debuted in The Avengers #181 USA (1978. 100% Marvel HC. Ant-Man: The Arrival of Scott Lang) as a Stark International technician… to go on to wear the Ant-Man suit in Marvel Premiere #47 USA (1979).
