VOICE OF SEMARANG – A number of strong European teams cannot take part in the grand football event for the U20 World Cup in 2023 which will be held in Indonesia.
Indonesia is hosting the U20 World Cup which will be held from 20 May to 11 June 2023.
There are 23 national teams representing each zone that will compete, consisting of Europe, Asia, Africa, America (Concacaf), Oceania and South America (Conmebol).
Representative teams from European countries will not be joined by strong World Cup subscription teams such as Germany, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Croatia, Belgium.

Even though the public in Indonesia is looking forward to the actions of players from Europe, which they usually see on the screen in their local league.
It is known that a number of European countries did not participate in the 2023 U20 World Cup because they did not qualify in the qualifying zone.
In order to qualify for the 2023 Indonesia U20 World Cup, the prospective participating teams must first compete in the pre-qualification round according to their respective zones.
The 2023 U20 World Cup qualifying round matches will be held on every continent according to the team’s football confederation.
In the European zone (UEFA) has produced a team that has the right to qualify for the 2023 U20 World Cup in Indonesia.

UEFA is the earliest confederation to hold pre-qualification matches for the 2023 U20 World Cup which ends in June 2022.
At the 2023 U20 World Cup in Indonesia, FIFA provided a quota for European teams of five national teams that would qualify for the 2022 UEFA U19 Championship.
In the 2022 UEFA U19 Championship, which is also a qualifier for the 2023 U20 World Cup, England won the title after beating Israel in the final with a score of 3-1.
The other two semifinalists, namely France and Italy, also qualified for the 2023 U20 World Cup in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Slovakia U20 qualified through the play-off round against Austria with a score of 1-0.
