Damien Leone caused a sensation with Terrifier in 2016 and, after a long creation process, the second installment of the descent into hell by the hand of art the clown will arrive in Spain next February 24th.
Along the way, we could not avoid asking him director and screenwriter Damien Leone for the accolade that he himself Stephen King has given his film thanks to an interview in which we have been able to ask him about it.
On social media, the prolific writer said the following: “TERRIFIER 2: Grossin’ you out old-school.” We could translate it as “TERRIFIER 2: “Regugnándote in the old school style”.
TERRIFIER 2: Grossin’ you out old-school.

Asked what he felt when he read it, his words reveal deep admiration: “First of all, that is probably the highest honor a horror filmmaker could dream of receiving. I mean, Stephen King is literally the king of horror“.
“So when I first saw that tweet, I thought it was fake. I thought someone photoshopped it or something. So that It’s something I still pinch myself for and i need to print it and frame it. honestly that It’s something I would put on a shelf and idolize all my life.“, he told us deeply moved.
“But the best thing that came out of it was I said, ‘Look, we have a stephen king quote‘. And the first thing that came to mind was the Stephen King quote on the VHS cover of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser, the original Hellraiser. And he’s also on the cover of Evil Dead. There was a quote from Stephen King, the original Evil Dead.”
“I went to the distributor and started sending emails. I was wondering if we could put his quote on our movie poster. They tried to contact Stephen King’s reps and all that, and they finally did. So we Stephen King gave us royal permission to use his tweet and put it on our poster“.
“Now he’s also on the cover of the movie Terrifier, which is the best thing you can imagine. So that’s one of the amazing, surreal things that came out of this whole experience.”
Damien Leone has managed to make one of his dreams as a horror filmmaker come true: to have the backing of a true icon of the genre. Long live the nightmares born from his little head!
