This winter, the Dutch professional football clubs have made use of the option to attract or sell players 167 times. That is ten times more than in the winter transfer period halfway through last season, the KNVB reports.
The last transfer before the so-called transfer window closed at midnight was in the name of Vicente Besuijen. The attacker made the switch from Aberdeen in Scotland to Excelsior in Rotterdam.
The biggest transfer was the transfer of Cody Gakpo from PSV to Liverpool. There were a total of 53 transfers within the Netherlands. Fifty football players were taken over from clubs abroad. 64 players just left the Netherlands. 48 more deals were closed in the last 24 hours.
