ROME, FEBRUARY 17 – The Chinese president, Xi Jinping, will make “a peace speech” on the occasion of the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine. This is what was reported by the head of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China, Wang Yi, to Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, during yesterday’s meeting in Rome. According to what the Italian deputy prime minister told Radio Anch’io, the senior Chinese diplomat told him that Xi “will make a peace speech on the occasion of the first year of war”. “He insisted on peace – Tajani said – he said that China wants peace, I hope that China will put real pressure on Moscow”.
