One of the most forgotten sagas by Nintendo in recent years is Star Fox, which still has no presence on the hybrid console. Now, a delivery has just been revealed that could have changed history. We are referring to Star Fox Armada, a canceled game for Wii U.
As you probably remember, Star Fox had its best moments in the days of the Nintendo 64 and Nintendo GameCube, when fans didn’t have to wait long for new installments.

However, Wii U only received Star Fox Zero, the title that last saw Fox, Falco and company (not counting Ubisoft’s Starlink: Battle for Atlas).
Thanks to this situation, the Did You Know Gaming team interviewed former Retro Studios artist Eric Kozlowsky, who offered details about Star Fox Armada, a game from that company that was going to be released on Wii U.

As you could see, the game would be about a main installment of the franchise and it would take us to a moment in which General Pepper realizes that Corneria and the Lylat System must be rebuilt after defeating Andross.
However, the planet has no resources to start rebuilding and the members of Star Fox would start a search to get them, although they would end up finding a much worse threat than Andross.

Additionally, Kozlowsky stated that the game would feature cooperative multiplayer, where one player would use a normal controller, while player 2 would grab the GamePad to shoot with a first-person view, repair the ship, and control shields from the screen.
If that wasn’t enough, Star Fox Armada was going to include an open world map with a non-linear plot, online multiplayer modes, and an appearance by Wolf.

Sadly, the project was canceled and Wii U only received Star Fox Zero, which divided opinions due to its awkward control.
We’ll have to wait and see if Nintendo has any plans to bring Star Fox to Switch, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for any news on that.
