OTTAWA – After the military United States of America (US), now You have confirmed seeing a spy balloon at a high altitude. Canadian authorities say that his movements are being actively tracked.
“A high-altitude reconnaissance balloon was detected and its movement actively tracked by NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command),” the national defense said in a statement.
“Canadian citizens are safe and Canada is taking steps to ensure the security of its airspace, including monitoring for a potential second incident,” the statement added.

The statement also said officials from NORAD, the Canadian Defense Forces, the Department of National Defense and other partners had assessed the situation and were working in close coordination.
The National Defense Command said that Canadian intelligence services are working closely with their American partners and are continuing to take all necessary actions to protect sensitive Canadian information from threats by foreign intelligence.
“We remain in frequent contact with our American allies as the situation develops,” the national defense said.
The warning from Canadian defense officials came just hours after the US military said it was tracking a high-altitude Chinese spy balloon it suspected was moving over the northern United States.

Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General Patrick Ryder said the US had so far decided not to shoot down the surveillance balloon.
