The father of the young woman who was allegedly kidnapped in Linares (Jaén) stated that his daughter was not well. “She was sick in her head and we were going to cure her,” said the man, who was released with charges after giving a statement. Along with the father, his wife (mother of the young woman) and the girl’s ex-father-in-law were also arrested. “The police don’t know anything about me,” added the man, with a calm face.
According to police sources, these three people have kidnapped their relative for 22 days, who they fed with water, sugar and honey to perform an exorcism on him. The goal was supposedly to “drive the demon out of her body.” The young woman herself resided in London and had recently been divorced from her.
From London to Linares
The girl traveled to the Andalusian town seeking the comfort of her family, but she would never have expected the reaction her parents had when they received her. And it is that, supposedly, when she got home she was locked in a locked room. Next, her parents notified her ex-father-in-law to get the demon out of her. And it is that she supposedly had evil in her body. It was her own sister who, alerted by not hearing from her, notified the National Police. A neighbor also called the agents warning of the screams that she heard inside the house.
On top of the girl and holding her wrists
When the police officers went to the address, the young woman’s parents assured that nothing was happening, but being at the door they heard noises coming from one of the rooms. They found the ex-father-in-law on top of her girl, holding her wrists and covering her mouth so no one could hear her.
Agents of the National Police arrested the three at the time. The judge has placed a restraining order on them although they have already been released.
It would be the first Islamic exorcism in Spain.
