The journalist Enrique Acevedo presented an exclusive interview for N de Televisa about his meeting with Shakira in Barcelona, where both talked about how the star feels about what has been happening as a result of publishing “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” with the Argentine Bizarrap, where he clearly speaks of an emotional catharsis after the dissolution of her sentimental relationship with Gerard Piqué.
“Through my songs I have always felt that I have a duty to use my voice and lend it to those who may not be able to speak. I have realized that women are at a really key moment for society, a point at which the support that we can receive from one another is very relevant”, she shared with Enrique.
“As Madeleine Albright, Secretary of State of the United States, said: There is a place in hell reserved for those women who do not support others, and I completely agree.” As for the controversy over her recent song with Bizarrap where there are women who agree with what she did and others who may not, Shakira confesses that she is still at the center of those conversations.
“I think I also bought that story that a woman needs a man to complete herself. I also had that dream of having a family where the children had a father and a mother under the same roof. Not all dreams in life come true, but life finds a way to compensate you in some way, and I think that with me it has more than done so with these two great and wonderful children (his children) who fill me with love every day ” .
In addition, he made a very revealing confession: “And I have also found that in that fable that a woman definitely needs a man – because she always I have been quite emotionally dependent on men, I have to confess, I have been in love with love– I think that somehow I have managed to understand that story from another perspective, and to feel that I am enough for myself todaythat when a woman has to face the attacks of life, she comes out stronger, and when you come out stronger it is because you have learned to know your own weaknesses, accept your vulnerability as well and express what you feel, that pain, because they say the opposite of depression is the expression”.
Now she highlights that she has managed to feel that she is enough for herself, “something I never thought I could. Now I feel complete, because I feel that I depend on myself and that I also have two children that depend on me, so I have to be stronger than a lioness”.
He expresses that to have a true strength, that is not a facade, this has to be the result of experiencing a duel and of tolerating frustration “because there are dreams in life that are broken and that the pieces of the ground have to be put together to rebuild again.”
He thanks Bizarrap because he entered the recording studio in one way and left in another, since he gave him an opportunity to vent, necessary for his own recovery process, “I would have been in a very different place if I hadn’t made that song.”
