Scotland: Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon unexpectedly resigns
Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon surprisingly resigns from the role of prime minister of Scotland: the announcement, anticipated by the British media, will arrive today, Wednesday 15 February 2023, at a press conference in Edinburgh.
Sturgeon, who is also the leader of the independence party of the SNP, according to a source close to her, is quoted by the BBC, she is simply tired.
Deputy Prime Minister and Government Secretary for Health and Welfare and later also Government Secretary for Infrastructure, Investment and Cities in the Salmond government, Nicola Sturgeon was appointed premier following Salmond’s resignation following the defeat of the campaign for the ” Yes” in the 2014 Scottish independence referendum.
The former premier fought to obtain another referendum on independence from the United Kingdom, but failed due to the refusal of the British central government.
