Racism is a problem of all Spanish football. This was stated by Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti on Tuesday during a press conference in Rabat, where his team will compete against the Egyptian club Al-Ahly in the semi-finals of the World Cup for club teams on Wednesday.
Ancelotti responded with his statements to the events surrounding his player Vinícius Júnior. The Brazilian has recently been the victim of racism in Spanish stadiums. “It sometimes seems that Vinicius is the problem. It is not. It is a problem of Spanish football. It must be solved. Vinicius is the victim of something that I do not understand,” said Ancelotti.
Real hopes to put an end to a series of bad results at the World Cup. Ancelotti: “I think the team is growing despite Sunday’s defeat against Real Mallorca. That loss hurt. We are dealing with injuries, but the feeling is good.”
Real misses against Al-Ahly goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, striker Karim Benzema and defenders Éder Militão, Lucas Vázquez and Ferland Mendy. If Real reaches the final on Saturday, Courtois, Benzema and Militao will probably be available again.
