WASHINGTON – Legendary investigative journalist Seymour Hersh claimed on Saturday (11/2/2023) that his latest bomb report, which showed the CIA was responsible for the destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline in September, was not a hard story to come up with.
“It’s clear that there is more to the problem than most media outlets are reporting,” said Hersh.
In his first interview since he published the story in Substack last Wednesday, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist was asked by Radio War Nerd to comment on the source of his story, which remains undisclosed.
Hersh declined to reveal any details about who he spoke to and noted it was his job to protect his sources and withstand backlash when the story aired.

But those in the media who criticize him for using anonymous sources should “understand his business a little better”, the journalist suggested.
“The problem is, everything is already cheap. Because now the New York Times and Washington Post think the unnamed source could be a press person, the press secretary, whispering something to them on the side. I don’t know, they don’t seem to have anyone inside,” said Hersh.
He also noted that major news outlets failed to report much about the ongoing conflict between Moscow and Kiev.
“The war I know is not the war you read about,” Hersh said.
