PRIVATE VOCATIONAL – PSM Makassar coach, Bernardo Tavares, does not want to take Persik Kediri’s strength lightly ahead of Week 25 of the 2022/2023 BRI League 1 match at Gelora BJ Habibie Parepare Stadium, Sunday (19/2/2023).
By playing at home, PSM has the ambition to continue its success in achieving positive results against Persib Bandung last week.
However, PSM coach, Bernardo Tavares, admits that he is reluctant to underestimate the strength of the opponent, even though the distance between the two teams in the standings is like heaven and earth.
PSM is temporarily still at the top of the 2022/2023 BRI Liga 1 provisional standings, while Persik is still falling in the lower zone by occupying 17th place.

“I think regarding Persik, they have a capable squad. In football there are not only 11 people, there are several people and the players who are likely to be prepared have high motivation,” said the tactician from Portugal.
“I don’t see any advantage for us here because we will face 11 players who want to win,” he added.
Bernardo Tavares is aware of the opponent’s high motivation to achieve positive results.
According to him, the high motivation carried by the Persik players will be the strength to be able to dampen PSM’s game.
He also reflected on the results of last week’s match when Persik hosted Bali United at their home ground, Kediri Brawijaya Stadium.

Bernardo Tavares said there was high determination shown by Persik to be able to win and this proved to be difficult for Bali United, which incidentally was the defending champion team last season.
“Regarding their last game against a team that won twice and scored first. Bali (United) was only able to equalize in the final minutes,” explained Bernardo Tavares. ***
