“The police saw no other solution than to use the service weapon,” says a police spokesman. The other dog, she says, was ‘badly damaged’, but survived the incident and was taken to a vet.

The police are investigating exactly what happened. It is not known how badly the two people were injured. It is also not clear what kind of dog it was.
Dagblad van het Noorden reports that there is a pool of blood in the street where it happened and that the roadway and sidewalk were closed for a while. The way is now clear.
