Tadej Pogacar booked his third win of the season on Thursday. The 24-year-old Slovenian was the best in the second stage of the Ruta del Sol, where he also won the opening stage on Wednesday. Two-time Tour winner Pogacar started the season on Monday with a victory in the one-day race Jaén Paraiso Interior in Spain, after a long solo.
Pogacar was 4 seconds ahead of Spaniard Enric Mas (second) and Colombian Santiago Buitrago (third) after a stage from Diezma to Alcalá la Real, which was 156 kilometers long. In the standings, the UAE Team Emirates rider now has a 48-second lead over number 2 Buitrago.
