Both Nintendo and Microsoft have held events to showcase their upcoming First Party releases in recent weeks, which means everyone is now waiting for Sony. Recently, journalist Jeff Grubb reported that the company had a “low-key” State of Play presentation planned “soon”, with a larger PlayStation Showcase planned for around June.
While many have speculated that the State of Play presentation will come sometime in March, Grubb has followed up on the aforementioned leak, having recently taken to Twitter and said that it is actually “likely to happen before the end of February.”
It should be noted that February 22nd will see the launch of the PlayStation VR2, so if Sony has a State of Play presentation planned around that time, it may feature announcements for the VR headset.
Of course, if that timeline is indeed what Sony has planned, it won’t be long before we get official confirmation on the matter.
I see people keep saying March for the State of Play, but I think it’s more likely to happen before the end of February. https://t.co/lbQhqkKlyU
