Suara.com – Access or primary health services for Islamic boarding schools is included as one of the points in the Draft Omnibus Law (RUU) in the Health Sector. This will be fought for during the discussion of the bill at the Legislation Body or Baleg DPR RI.
“We are currently discussing the Health Omnibus Law Bill, and there is one important point that we are guarding, namely how Islamic boarding schools can have good health services. I personally am ready to set up an agency to guard it until later it is realized,” said Member of the Legislative Body (Baleg) DPR RI, Nur Nadlifah to reporters, Friday (3/2/2023).
He said Islamic boarding schools really needed the presence of the state regarding the optimization of health services. With this being discussed or included in the Omnibus Law Bill on Health, this matter will be fought for.
“Actually, Islamic boarding schools have needed the presence of the state for a long time, especially for health services. We know there are thousands of students there, even if the total is up to millions of students,” he said.

“So this (RUU) discussion is a breath of fresh air for the students. And we, the PKB faction in the DPR, are ready to oversee it until it really materialises,” he continued.
He claimed, the PKB faction is committed to overseeing the Health Omnibus Law Bill, especially regarding Islamic boarding schools’ access and health services. This could be PKB’s concrete contribution as well as a gift to commemorate the 1st century of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).
“We at the PKB faction want to give our best, fight for the best for Islamic boarding schools. Please pray that all these endeavors will be facilitated, especially since this coincides with the moment of the 1st Century of NU, of course we dedicate this as a gift,” he said.
Furthermore, he said the general chairman of the DPP PKB Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin had given directions so that the bill would be guarded by his staff.
“Gus Ketum (Muhaimin Iskandar) has instructed us in the faction to oversee the bill. Because after all this PKB was born by scholars, of course, Islamic boarding schools and students are the main thing for us to fight for,” added Nur Nadlifah.

In the formulation of Article 27 paragraph (1) it is stated that the Central Government and Regional Governments are required to provide access to primary health services and referral health services in all regions of Indonesia including remote areas, borders, islands, special communities, Islamic boarding schools, and areas that are not of interest to the private sector.
Then in Part Two about the Puskesmas Article 175 Paragraph (4) it is stated that in order to achieve the goals referred to in paragraph (3), Puskesmas are established in special community areas, boarding educational institutions, or Islamic boarding schools.
