PEC Zwolle continues to lead the ranking in the Kitchen Champion Division. The formation of trainer Dick Schreuder had little trouble with Young AZ on Friday evening at home. The leader won 4-1.
With that, Zwolle ran further ahead of pursuer Heracles Almelo. VVV-Venlo beat the runner-up 3-1. The difference in the ranking between PEC Zwolle and Heracles is now 10 points, in Zwol’s favour.
Halfway through, PEC Zwolle had almost decided the meeting. It was already 3-0. The Greek Apostolos Vellios opened the scoring, then Younes Taha scored two goals in a matter of minutes.
After almost an hour, the home team ran further. Dean Huiberts made the 4-0. Mexx Meerdink then did something in return for the youthful Alkmaarders.
Heracles took the lead at VVV-Venlo after more than fifteen minutes thanks to the Belgian Lucas Schoofs. Nick Venema equalized in the 61st minute. Kees de Boer gave the Limburgers the lead fifteen minutes before the end. Mitchell van Rooijen shot in the 3-1 very nicely.
The first two of the Kitchen Champion Division are promoted directly to the Eredivisie.
