Overwatch 2 is premiering its Season 3 and Blizzard Entertainment wants that to be a reason for excitement among its community. Sadly, the company’s decisions have also caused some players to be upset. Now, a subject raised his voice for a Battle Pass that he considers “deliberately misleading.”
A few days after the Overwatch 2 Season 3 premiere, a reddit user decided to speak up about the changes. It turns out that one of the novelties of this season was that the Battle Pass would offer currency that the community could earn by leveling up. In this way those who paid for the pass could unlock other cosmetics in addition to the ones that Blizzard Entertainment selected.

To explain the problem, it is first necessary to know that Overwatch 2 has 3 currencies: Overwatch Coins; Old Credits and League Tokens. Each coin is distinguished by a different design, but many differentiate them by their colors. Overwatch Coins are gold; White Old Credits and League Tokens are blue.
With all this it would be easy to identify at a glance what are the credits that come in the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass, right? Well, some members of the community think otherwise. The above since the Old Credits of the Battle Pass have a golden hue instead of white. Thus, there are users that it is easy to get confused and buy the pass expecting to buy Overwatch coins, although the designs of both currencies are different.
But if they’re getting coins anyway, what’s the problem? As it turns out, Old Credits are much lower in value than Overwatch Coins. Thus, it would turn out to be a bitter pill to pay expecting something and receive a coin that serves much less.

Is Overwatch 2 really being cheating?
It is worth mentioning that the Overwatch Coins icon is shown as a real coin, while the Old Credits icon only shows the symbol. So, there is a clear difference between the two that most gamers should notice. Also, the Battle Pass specifies the type of reward it gives out and Blizzard made it clear in its communication that it would give out credits, not coins.

With this in mind, this issue may not actually affect as many users as the post indicates. That said, it’s a fact that the Old Credits turning gold is a design flaw that Blizzard would do well to fix so Overwatch 2 has better visual communication. After all, Overwatch 2 monetization is already annoying and confusing enough for many to add yet another headache.
And you, what did you think of this news? Do you think that the Battle Pass is misleading or that some members of the community are exaggerating? Tell us in the comments.
