Cyclocross rider Lauren Molengraaf failed to win a medal at the World Cup in Hoogerheide. The 17-year-old Dutch was the favorite among the juniors beforehand, but was thrown back a long way due to a fall and a puncture and finished seventh.
The title went to Canada’s Isabella Holmgren, who finished solo after five laps. Her sister Ava Holmgren took silver and Célia Gery from France took bronze.
The U23 men and elite women will come into action later Saturday.
