The position of head coach is no longer filled at the Athletics Union. It means that there will be no successor for Charles van Commenèe, said the new technical director Vincent Kortbeek. “I think there is so much know-how in the current coaching staff, I think this group of coaches can strengthen and help each other. There is no need for a head coach in between.”
This week it was announced that athlete Susan Krumins (36) has joined the technical staff. The 5,000 and 10,000 meter specialist, two-time medalist at European Championships, will support national coach Tomasz Lewandowski in the middle distances. “Thomas has a lot of experience, but guiding the athletes is so intensive, he was short of time. It’s great that Susan is joining us with her experience,” said Kortbeek.
Former hurdler Marjan Olyslager is also new to the technical staff. She will mainly support Kortbeek.
