Some time ago we talked to you about and showed you the new parallel twin-cylinder patented in China by Aprilia, created in partnership with Zongshen. It was about a four-stroke parallel twin with double camshaft timing which however showed a particular characteristic: the transmission is with central cams between the cylinders and not on one side, as instead happens in most engines. An unusual solution then, but one that has already been adopted by other manufacturers with other engines such as the 1000 cc Honda six-cylinder, the VFR400R V4 or the Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP engine. However, this could only be the starting point for a new range of engines. Rumors arriving from Asia say that this new RS pinched on the street during testing is powered by a engine of about 440 cc. capable of delivering around 45-50hp.
