Suara.com – The Daily Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that his party would be happy if the parties in the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) merged with the Gerindra-PKB Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition. It is known that KIB was initiated by Golkar, PPP and PAN.
“Look, about joining KIB and the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition, yes, of course if it happens we’ll be happy,” Dasco told reporters, Friday (10/2/2023).
However, Dasco admitted that he did not know about the paroles that might be close together. Recently it became known that PKB chairman Muhaimin Iskandar met with Golkar party chairman Airlangga Hartarto.
“All that remains for KIB is only Golkar or both, if KIB means 3 parties. So I can’t answer that then how to do it, that’s how it is. So if for example 3 parties KIB agrees, we certainly agree,” he explained.

Dasco confirmed that the presidential-vice presidential candidate pair would be decided together with the coalition. Currently, the issue of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the Gerindra-PKB coalition will be decided by the two general chairmen of the parties.
“Oh these are presidential candidates, vice presidential candidates, if the Great Indonesia Awakening Coalition, or PKB-Gerindra, Pak Prabowo and Pak Muhaimin discussed that,” he said.
“So, of course, before forming a coalition, we will discuss what the mechanism will be like if it were true, and of course we welcome it,” Dasco added.
Meeting
Previously, the Golkar Party had openly merged the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) with the Great Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KIR).

Golkar Chairperson Airlangga Hartarto said that joining the two coalitions into one would certainly be better in terms of strength. This was revealed by Airlangga in his meeting with General Chair of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin.

“Both of them invite. So if the two join, the stronger the better,” said Airlangga in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Friday (10/2/2023).
According to Airlangga, the opportunity for KIB and the KIR Coalition to join is indeed open. In politics, emphasized the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, there is nothing that cannot be discussed. If indeed the two coalitions merge, it means that Golkar-PAN-PPP will merge with Gerindra-PKB.
“And don’t forget that these are all government parties,” said Airlangga.
Meanwhile, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin responded positively to the opportunity for the two coalitions to unite.
“Very good. The more coalition ranks, the more effective the election process, the better the election process,” said Muhaimin.
According to Muhaimin, the most important thing in knitting together in a coalition is to align the vision, targets and goals.
“That is the most important thing. So we hope that the parties will share the vision, goals and targets so that we are really ready not to suddenly take strategic steps,” he said.
