For the first time after 5 months, the French goalkeeper played the whole session with the team (together with Florenzi). He should be available again against the Goddess. Still apart from Calabria and Bennacer
Pioli rubs his hands and smiles. Mike Maignan is ready to return after five months. The Frenchman spent the entire session with the team, and three days before Sunday’s match against Atalanta it means only one thing: Pioli will have him back in the ranks, at least on the bench. Together with Magic Mike, Alessandro Florenzi also trained in a group, who remained out of the away match in Monza despite training with the team during the week. He too should be available again.
Calvary
—
Against the Dea Tatarusanu should play again, but the recovery of Maignan is excellent news in view of the return against Tottenham on 8 March. The former Lilla has been out since 18 September, starting on the pitch against Napoli before a five-month ordeal. Maignan – already partially in the group on Tuesday – missed 22 games between the league and cups, plus the World Cup with France, while Florenzi has even been out since August 30, 90′ against Sassuolo before the stoppage. So far he has only played two games. Against Atalanta, net of last-minute relapses, he too will be available to Pioli again.
Apart
—
Calabria and Bennacer, the other two injured players from Milan, worked separately, carrying out personalized training. It will still take him some time before we see them again on the pitch, perhaps on March 4 against Fiorentina. The captain remained on the bench against Tottenham and missed the match against Monza, while the Algerian has been out since the end of January with a hamstring injury. Pioli hopes to have them available again for the match against Tottenham on 8 March.
