The Rossoneri took the lead in the 7th minute with a goal from the Spaniard and kept the never dangerous English at bay. The return of the eighths on March 8 in London
Festive evening for Milan who beat Tottenham, in front of 74,000 at the Meazza, in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League. After returning to victory in the championship (1-0 against Turin), Pioli’s team scored an encore in the most important match.
The match was directed by the goal scored after 7 minutes by Brahim Diaz: Theo Hernandez sinks from the left and kicks on goal, Forster blocks and performs a miracle on Diaz’s rebuttal but can do nothing on the former Real’s tap-in. In the first half Spurs were never dangerous, except for an offside crossbar by Kulusevski. In the second half De Ketelaere and Thiaw didn’t take advantage of two great opportunities to double the Rossoneri’s lead. The Rossoneri, however, keep the disappointing English at bay and await the return on 8 March in London with excitement.
