BRUSSELS, 01 FEB – “We have to address the issue of secondary movements. But responsibility and solidarity must be faced together and European solidarity must be stronger”. This was stated by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen to the European Parliament, underlining how, within the framework of the voluntary relocation mechanism, 8,000 transfer promises have currently been registered and only 400 have actually been carried out. “Solidarity cannot be only on paper,” she added.
