Bing with ChatGPT caused a sensation upon its release. His answers were useful, but also strange, offensive, and this artificial intelligence system became delirious. That caused Microsoft to take action on the matter: it put limits on Bing and that made it a much more boring chatbot.
Bing relaxes its limitations. In a message on the official Bing blog, Microsoft indicated that after the latest changes to “Bing chat”, they decided to implement new changes that give this conversational artificial intelligence engine a little more room to maneuver.
What has changed. These days the limit is five turns (user input, ie questions or comments) in each chat session and 50 total turns. Now that limit has gone up to six turns in each chat and 60 turns in total.
It’s enough? According to Microsoft, yes: “our data shows that this will enable daily use of Bing for the vast majority of you.” It may be that occasional use may be covered by these limits, but once again that margin seems short for those who want to explore new uses for this type of conversational search experience.
They want to go further. Those responsible for this platform indicate that “our intention is to go further, and we plan to increase the daily limit to 100 chat turns soon.” Right now, they warn, normal searches in Bing —which also cause Bing responses with ChatGPT to appear on the side— count as turns, but that too will disappear in the future.
Application. There is another interesting future novelty. This is an additional option that they are evaluating and that will allow the user to choose the tone of the chat. Thus, we can choose between “precise” (short and direct answers), “balanced” or “creative” (longer and conversational answers). That, they say, will allow more control over the behavior of the system at all times.
