One of the best characters in the first two Ant-Man installments is Michael Peña’s Luis, but he doesn’t appear in the third and the director reveals why.
Definitely, Luis is a different character in the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe and it worked perfectly as a secondary friend of the protagonist. But in Ant-Man 3 have decided that most of the action is in the Quantum Realm and that is why we have not seen Michael Rock, Judy Greer or Bobby Cannavale.
In a recent interview with THR, the director Peyton Reed has revealed that there were never any plans for Luis of michael pena return.
“There were no versions of this film with Luis. There are many characters in the movie. Obviously we have our Lang family, van Dyne and Pym, but we also introduce Kang, MODOK and all of our Freedom Fighter characters. So we had to make decisions early on about what stories we could tell and what stories we couldn’t tell.”
“I love those secondary characters. They were really, really fun and part of the Lang family, but as we got further and further into development and we knew we wanted to bring the family into the Quantum Realm pretty early on in the movie, it just didn’t make sense to include Luis and co. ”.
There are no plans for him to return.
As Luis of michael pena does not appear in Ant-Man 3that may mean we never see him again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since it is a character that is related to Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and this hero will be important in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2025) y Avengers: Secret Wars (2026). But probably after that the baton will pass to Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) so it wouldn’t make any sense for Luis to be on her adventures.
The movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania It’s already in theaters. While the shares of michael pena can be seen in the Disney Plus streaming platform with this link.
