KIEV, 21 FEB – “I am honored, it is my duty to be here”. Thus the premier Giorgia Meloni, getting off the train on which she arrived in Kiev. “I think it is right to be here to reiterate the position of the Italian government and perhaps also personally realize what is needed by a people who fight for freedom”, added Meloni, welcomed by the Ukrainian government delegation with a bouquet of roses, by a representation of the Italian Embassy and by the Ukrainian ambassador in Italy, Yaroslav Melnyk. “It’s always different to see with your own eyes, I think it helps Italians understand too” she said again, and to those who asked her if she was excited she replied: “I’m curious, determined to understand what these people need”.
