“Yes, it is a very strange moment. Both very wonderful and confusing because I have three ideas for movies. I even have the structure of all three to some extent. And so it’s a very strange and interesting situation that I’m feeling. I wish I could tell you faster. I wish I could get there faster, but there are no shortcuts. I have to spend six to nine months to write it. I have a storyboard for three months, and then we have pre-production, and then film it and edit it for as long as I can, every second,” the filmmaker confessed.
“I just finished Knock on the door. I would say that the three hours, four hours before I left my pencils in There’s a Knock, I added one more line. I called a actor and I said, “Say this to your phone and send it to me right now. I have an idea”. And I put it It was like, one last thought, and then they said, Pencils down. You cannot put another idea, ”she added.
How did you come up with the idea?
“Well, it was very organic. The movie came to me as a ready-made entity where the writers and directors wanted to do a direct adaptation of the book, moment by moment, a direct adaptation. And that’s how it came to me. Then I said: “I love this very much. premise. And I think you guys are right, really. I do not believe in this story when he left. I can’t endorse that. And I think my audience, I wouldn’t want them to experience that.” That’s what I said. And I said, “I totally support you and I wish you the best.” And then they left, and it didn’t go well, that movie,” he explained of his next title.
On how the original idea, which is a novel, came to him, he went on to say: “Then organically the book came back to me and they said: “We loved what you said about that…” I said what I thought I should happen and where the story should go. And then they said, “We really believe what you just said.” And I said, “Hey.” Then I was thinking about it and I thought, “I really believe in this premise. I have that Connection irrational with her.” And I could see myself working on it for a year and a half from there. So I said, “You know what? In fact, I’m going to do it myself.” So it was very beautiful in the way that she came back organically,” he finished her with Collider.
