Storm Reid, who played Riley in the live-action series, spoke in a recent interview about users criticizing HBO’s The Last of Us series for including LGBTQIA+ content. She knew very well that there would be homophobic viewers who would express their disgust with her after the premiere of the last episode. However, her negative comments do not matter to him.
“As Bella said when episode 3 came out: if you don’t like it, don’t watch it. We tell important stories, we tell people’s experiences. That’s what I live for. That is what makes the narration good, because we tell stories of people who occupy a space in the world”, commented the young actress.

In the interview, the 19-year-old interpreter praised the complexity of Ellie and Riley’s romance and friendship, noting that she finds their relationship beautiful.
