Of the 12 coaches there are 4 local head coaches who have been sacked. So that only Aji Santoso, Seto Nurdiyantoro, and M. Ridwan (Temporary Head Coach) were left.
Coach Aji Santoso has been with Persebaya Surabaya for 5 years, Seto Nurdiyantoro rejoined the team nicknamed Super Elang Jawa on Friday (1/4/2022) from PSIM Yogyakarta, while M. Ridwan was appointed to fill the temporary position left by Ian Andrew Gillan .
If you examine why many local trainers are failing at this time, maybe it’s not just the coach’s failure. However, there can be mistakes from a manager who has the authority to buy players and the scouting staff who are scouts for the team.

In addition to this, if we look back at the process, someone who wants to become a football coach must complete a coaching course at the Asprov/Askab PSSI and AFC.
Initially someone who wants to become a football coach must attend and complete a D license course, usually organized by the local Asprov/Askab. From here the coach can take care of an academy team.
Then you can take the AFC C license course which is usually held by the federation. From here the coach can manage a League 3 club, after being active for 6 months at the grassroots level. After the AFC C license, coaches can take the AFC B course from here the coach can become an assistant coach on the Indonesian League 1 team or coach the Liga 2 team, after having 2 years of coaching experience as reported by Suara.com.
Furthermore, the coach can take the AFC A license taking course, after completing the course the coach can become the head coach of the Indonesian League 1 team or become the head assistant in other big Asian teams, this has the condition that the coach must have coaching experience since one year after having a license AFC B.
After completing the AFC A license coaching course, trainers can take the AFC Pro coaching course. Where after completing this the coach can coach the National Team or appear in the LCA (Asian Champions League) or the AFC Cup. Requirements to get the AFC Pro license, must have a career as a coach for 5 years and have experience coaching in a professional team or have been involved in national team coaching staff.

So, what often happens is when they finish taking the AFC B license course where most people instead choose to coach a League 2 team or remain a coach on a League 3 team to speed up taking a higher license. The coach should have studied beforehand by becoming an assistant coach on a League 1 team, this applies if the coach is not a former professional football player.
The coach can then choose from two paths, having completed the AFC A coaching course, becoming the head coach of a League 1, 2 or 3 team or becoming an assistant coach of teams in other Asian countries to learn again from the head coach of that team.
However, you should not just take the coaching chair in local teams. It’s better to leave the Indonesian League, study with coaches in other Asian countries first. In order to enrich the trainer’s knowledge about coaching management, the style of training football players, and implementing the player’s role to the fullest.
Things like this are rarely done by coaches who are not born from professional football players. Sometimes it is the quality of the training in the course or the curriculum of the training that makes the trainers not good enough. However, several cases of failure of a trainer are due to a lack of experience and knowledge in training so that players reach their peak abilities and maximize the player’s role, in the chosen tactics or formations.
