The singer was recently a guest on the British program The Graham Norton Show and ‘very nervous’ for it. “That day I was told that my song ‘Before You Go’ was number 1 in the UK, so I downed quite a few red wines.” Lewis therefore admits to being ‘quite drunk’ during this television appearance. “Actually, the whole interview is a blur. I can’t remember exactly what I said.”
Fortunately, Lewis can laugh about it. He is therefore known for regularly poking fun at himself and he is not alone in this, he says. “Surprisingly many celebrities sometimes make a mess of themselves, you know. Just not when the camera is on. I think that’s part of it, that you present yourself perfectly. But I always joke at my own expense, I do that to everyone.”
There is a reason that he has a surprising amount of self-mockery, according to the singer. “It has to do with a lack of self-confidence and other insecurities anyway. But actually you should ask my therapist about this.”
