Suara.com – The Indonesian Islamic University (UII) Yogyakarta asked for the help of the National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol Indonesia to trace the whereabouts of Ahmad Munasir Rafie Pratama (AMRP), a lecturer who reportedly lost contact after attending a global mobility activity at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in Norway .
“We submitted an application for AMRP protection through the Service and Protection of Indonesian Citizens abroad, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and sent a letter to the Secretary of the NCB-Interpol Indonesia to issue a ‘yellow notice’ for searching for missing persons,” said UII Chancellor Prof. Fathul Wahid in a statement received in Yogyakarta, Sunday (19/2/2023).
UII, said Fathul, had also communicated with the Indonesian Embassy in Oslo and the Indonesian Consulate in Istanbul who had coordinated with local authorities.
The Indonesian Islamic University (UII) Yogyakarta Crisis Center Team has conducted digital footprint excavation and confirmed that Ahmad Munasir has left Oslo, Norway and is in Istanbul, Turkey.

He said that apart from recording the activity of “signing out google drive” which occurred on February 13, 2023 at 03.57 local time, the UII Crisis Center Team also found other digital traces.
“AMRP was connected to the internet through an eduVPN Virtual Private Network connection that leads to the UII campus. The access location is around Istanbul, around 19.00-23.00 local time on February 12, 2023,” said Fathul Wahid.
According to him, information received from the Indonesian Embassy in Oslo confirmed the digital footprint findings.
The police in Oslo confirmed that immigration records at Oslo Airport showed that Ahmad Munasir was no longer in the Schengen area on 12 February 2023.
“Until now, we cannot confirm whether the AMRP has left Istanbul and headed for Riyadh. The boarding status information that we are still waiting for from Turkish Airline will reveal more clearly,” he said.

Previously, Ahmad Munasir traveled to Oslo, Norway on February 4, 2023 as part of a campus assignment to take part in global mobility activities at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in Norway.
Munasir was supposed to return February 12 via Istanbul on a Turkish Airlines flight and land at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Thursday (16/2) at 18.00 WIB.
The lecturer in the Department of Informatics at the UII Faculty of Informatics Engineering reportedly lost contact after he last communicated with his wife on Sunday afternoon (12/2) on his way home, which was at Oslo Airport at the time. (Source: Antara)
