KTM has reached a very important milestone in India: lhe millionth motorcycle produced rolled off the production line at Chakan’s Bajaj plant in Pune, India. In this plant, KTM (from 125 cc to 390 cc) and Husqvarna (from 125 cc to 401 cc) motorcycles have been developed and produced since 2011 for global distribution since 2011. The millionth motorcycle produced is one KTM 390 Adventure.
To celebrate this historic milestone, Stefan Pierer, CEO of Pierer Mobility AG, and Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director and CEO of Bajaj Auto Limited, were present at the Chakan plant. “Production has traditionally been one of our strengths and the one millionth KTM example is a testament to that,” says Rajiv Bajaj. “When we signed our partnership in 2007, we set ourselves the goal of develop innovations as strategic partners to make KTM brands known worldwide. The million motorcycle mark has been reached. There are many more to do.”
