The basketball players of the Sacramento Kings and LA Clippers have created the second-biggest score ever in the NBA. The Kings defeated the Clippers 176-175 in Los Angeles.
The decision was only made after two overtime periods. After regular time, the score was 153-153 on the board, after which the overtime started. After the first overtime there was still no winner, after which the game continued.
The biggest score ever in the NBA was recorded in December 1983. Nearly 40 years ago, the Detroit Pistons beat Denver Nuggets 186-184.
Malik Monk accounted for no less than 45 points for the Kings and De’Aaron Fox was good for 42 points on the sensational evening. On the side of the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard was the leading scorer with 44 points.
In the run-up to the marathon game, the Clippers had a week off, the Kings played the night before.
The Kings are third in the Western Conference, the Clippers fifth.
