Even though Super Junior is one of the most recognizable bands in the Kpop genre, its members are very clear that fame and success are completely temporary; so they prefer to remain humble and continue working on what is most important to them: their fans.
“It is difficult to go up (to success), but it is very easy to go down, we have made a lot of effort, sacrifice and work to stay here and with a lot of help from our fans, especially those from Latin America,” they said at a press conference upon their arrival in our country.
They even confessed that they feel a very special affection and respect for Mexico, since every time their followers come they receive them with a unique energy that they have not felt anywhere else in the world.
“You fans have sung and danced, so we have received the energy from you. All of us have tasted the food and culture of this country, so we respect it just like you like the culture and gastronomy of our country.”the band added.
Among their visits to Aztec lands, the group recalled one of the moments they remember the most because they got into trouble, was when In the middle of the concert, their fans asked them to take off their clothes: “They told us ‘take off your shirts, get naked’, we said ‘why nothing else? You too’ and those who were up front said that they would, it’s a very funny moment.”
The band also stressed that in the beginning they tried different genres and are currently including more Latin sounds to their songs, something that both them and their fans have been fascinated.
Super Junior will be presented Tuesday and Wednesday of this week in Mexico City and although it is not their first time in the Mexican capital, they said they were completely nervous, They don’t know how their audience will react.
“Seeing the tours of Latin America, we have received a lot of love. Young people of all ages know our songs, they start to sing them, for which we want to say thank you. Every time we come here we feel happy with joy, we always want to return to Mexico,” they concluded.
