Compatriot Marijke Groenewoud completed the three kilometers half a second faster than Beune and thus finished third: 4.07.18. The Norwegian Ragne Wiklund was victorious in 4:05.96 and the experienced Martina Sablikova from the Czech Republic was second in 4:06.04. Wiklund also secured the overall victory in the World Cup classification over 3000 and 5000 meters.
