The coordinator of the economic development cabinet, Xavier Orendáin De Obeso, highlighted the “cash rebate” program endowed with 100 million pesos so that the productions that are made in Jalisco, through the verification of expenses in service issues, can receive a refund up to 40%; He commented that the program’s operating rules have already been published and that as of March 3 they will begin to receive projects.
“We estimate that with this incentive we will be able to bring productions for an amount greater than 500 million pesos, depending on whether we would be making a cash rebate of 40% or 20% as the case may be; the amount will vary if they are series or movies, but we are estimating that the Internal Validation Committee will be able to assess approximately 20, 23 or 25 projects in a first stage”, he explained.
The state official estimated that the spill for the making of movies or series in Jalisco could reach up to 3 billion of pesos, argued that each investment peso would be multiplied by 5 in spillovers from the sector.
