Suara.com – Heavy rain flushed parts of DKI Jakarta on Friday (24/2/2023) from early morning until noon. As a result, a number of roads in the capital were reported to be in a flooded condition.
According to BMKG information, it was recorded that rain with an intensity of 101 millimeters was classified as very heavy in the Muara Angke area, Central Jakarta.
This was conveyed by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Isnawa Adji. He said the rains that fell were of moderate to heavy intensity and submerged 11 roads and 21 RTs.
“BPBD noted that inundation that previously occurred on five roads and 10 RTs, now 11 roads are inundated and 21 RTs or 0.069 percent of the 30,470 RTs in the DKI Jakarta area,” Isnawa told reporters, Friday (24/2/ 2023).

The height of the submerging water also varies in each region depending on drainage capacity and rain intensity.

He said his party had deployed personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each area. Coordination was also carried out with elements of the Water Resources Service, the Bina Marga Service, the Gulkarmat Service to suck up puddles and ensure that the water lines functioned properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads.
“The inundation is targeted to recede quickly,” he said.
BPBD DKI appealed to the public to remain cautious and alert to potential inundation. In an emergency, call 112 immediately.
“This service is free and operates 24 hours non-stop,” he said.
